Landmarks of Denmark

Denmark is considered one of the most beautiful countries in Europe. Numerous monuments bearing a centuries-old history and stunning landscapes attract travelers. Sometimes it seems that all these beautiful views are a picture drawn by a skilled artist, so Denmark is considered a symbol of beauty and purity. However, unusual sights are still the main magnet for travelers. Everyone will be able to find something to their liking among the many monuments.

Mermaid statue

This bronze monument, erected in the port of the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, has become one of the most famous symbols of the country. The sculpture of a girl on a granite stone pedestal is dedicated to the heroine of the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.

Savior Church

This attraction is also located in Copenhagen. It is one of the most important religious symbols. The temple was built in the second half of the 7th century, when King Christian IV ruled the kingdom. Parishioners were able to attend the church in 1695. The peculiarity of the architecture in the form of a high ornate spire, which is visible from any point in Copenhagen, catches the eye.

Eressun bridge

It connects two cities in different countries - Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, and the city of Malmo, in Sweden. This important bridge began to be designed at the end of the twentieth century. The beginning of this bridge was laid by the abolition of passport control and the easing of customs control between Denmark and Sweden. It is noteworthy that during the construction a mistake was made in the calculations, but even so, it was identified, corrected and the construction was completed. In 1999, the bridge-tunnel eight kilometers long was officially opened. Millions of people use this bridge every year to move from one country to another as quickly as possible.

Guinness World Records Museum

One of the unusual attractions created thanks to Leroy Ripley, an eccentric man who has amassed a collection of unique things during his many travels. Scenes of almost 500 records are located on an area of 1000 square meters. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by a figure made of wax and representing the tallest person, whose height was 2 meters 72 cm. Sculptures of other record holders are also exhibited: a man who weighed almost 500 kilograms; another record holder literally ate metal products. He ate about twenty bicycles. Other achievements in different areas of human life are also presented.

Erotic Museum

This museum is known as the first museum of its kind with a similar theme of exhibits. This completely turned people's idea of erotica, allowing you to look at it as something beautiful, from which you can create a work of art. A whole history of eroticism was presented, starting from the most ancient civilizations and ending with our days. All this is presented in chronological order by completely different exhibits: sculptures, clothes, paintings, miniatures, photographs and films. This allowed people to look at this art in such a non-standard way.

Copenhagen Aquarium

The Danes have always lived near the sea, so it is not surprising that the largest oceanarium among the Nordic countries was built in the capital and the country. It was opened back in 2013 under the current Queen Margrethe II and Prince Heir Henrik.

Denmark is filled with many other fascinating attractions that immerse tourists in the history of the Scandinavian country and leave a lasting impression.
